Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
Introduction
Planetary Clock ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our iOS application, Planetary Clock — a planetary-hours and astronomical timekeeping app. Since version 1.1 the app uses an account (Sign in with Apple or Google) so your data stays in step across your devices. The app shows no ads. Access is offered through an auto-renewing subscription purchased from the App Store.
Information We Collect
Location Data
- • City you choose: The app does not use GPS and never asks for location permission. You search for a city by name and pick it from a list; planetary hours and sunrise/sunset times are computed from that city’s coordinates and time zone. While you are signed in, the chosen city is stored in your account so the same place applies on every device.
Usage and Diagnostic Data
- • Analytics: Anonymous usage events (e.g., screen views, button taps) collected via Google Firebase Analytics to help us understand how the app is used and improve it.
- • Device Information: Device model, iOS version, and app version, used for compatibility analysis and support.
Remote Configuration
- • Firebase Remote Config: At launch the app fetches configuration and feature settings from Google Firebase Remote Config. This allows us to adjust app behavior without requiring an update. No personal data is sent as part of this request.
When you sign in, we receive your name and e-mail address from Apple or Google and store them with your profile. We never receive or store your password — the sign-in is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We do NOT collect payment data: subscriptions are processed by Apple, and we never see your card, billing address, or Apple Account balance. What we do receive is whether a subscription is active. The app shows no advertisements.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively for:
- • Timekeeping Features: Computing planetary hours, the ruler of the day, sunrise/sunset times, and the Moon phase from the city you choose.
- • Analytics: Understanding usage patterns to improve the app experience.
- • Remote Configuration: Managing features and settings remotely without requiring an app update.
We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond operating the features described in this policy.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data only with the following service providers:
- • Google Firebase (Analytics, Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Remote Config) — analytics, sign-in, and storage of your profile and settings so they sync across devices. Firebase Privacy Policy
- • Apple App Store — distributes the app to your device. Apple Privacy Policy
These providers process data only as necessary to deliver their services and are subject to their own privacy policies linked above.
Data Protection and Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the app and our service providers uses HTTPS/TLS.
- • Minimal Collection: We collect only the data required to operate the features described in this policy. Location data never leaves your device.
We comply with applicable data protection regulations including GDPR, LGPD, and CCPA to the extent required by law.
Your Rights and Choices
Your account data can be reviewed and deleted from inside the app (Settings → Profile). Device-level permissions are controlled through iOS:
Location Access
- • Control or revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Planetary Clock.
Stop All Collection
- • Uninstalling the app stops all further data collection by us. Note that third-party providers (Google Firebase) may retain anonymous analytics and diagnostic data per their own retention policies.
California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have rights to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information (which we do not engage in).
European Residents (GDPR)
EU residents have rights to access, rectification, erasure, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us at the address below to exercise these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at: privacy@manaclavis.com
Data Retention
- • Analytics Data: Anonymous usage events are retained per Google Firebase's standard retention policies.
Deleting your account from inside the app removes your profile, birth data, saved location and calendar entries from our servers. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete this data — delete the account first.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Signing in requires an Apple or Google account, and those accounts carry their own minimum age requirements. The app serves no advertisements.
- • Parental Discovery: If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at: support@manaclavis.com
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. Google Firebase operates servers primarily in the United States. These transfers are covered by Google's standard contractual clauses and other safeguards compliant with GDPR Article 46.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors.
- • Review Date: The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
- • Continued Use: Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
